Over the many flourishing decades, ICL’s ground-breaking product manufacturing and packaging measures have propelled the organization to greater heights. The well-skilled Research and Development Team at ICL has contributed fluently in integrating world-class technology and machinery into the manufacturing process. Stressing on the corporate legacy, it is needless to say that we are the only local deodorant manufacturer in Sri Lanka with an array of many other significant products under the same company.
ICL has been the home to Eva, the foremost sanitary napkin brand in the Sri Lankan market for over 25 years as an integral player along with other personal care products such as Black Knight, Voodoo and leading baby care products such as Rebecca Lee. All raw materials for the sanitary napkins are sourced from the world’s best suppliers across China, India, Canada and USA and are manufactured using state-of-the-art German technology. With the adaptation of RFI technology for the manufacturing process, “Eva Wings” was introduced to the market as a more enhanced product. Today this cutting-edge technology and machinery has enabled to eject 800 sanitary pads per minute with world-class hygiene standards.
The deodorant manufacturing line up at ICL is a comprehensive manufacturing facility, fledged with advanced Swiss technology. It is crowned as the “one and only” in-house deodorant manufacturing plant in Sri Lanka to manufacture CFC-Free, Ozone friendly deodorant sprays. Moving on to the cream and gel segment, the tub filling and the foiling procedures are conducted by a fully automated production line. The hair creams produced for Black Knight undergo an up-to-date process known as cool emulsion; yet another unique production method utilized by ICL. And in the year 2008, sachets were introduced for hair cream and hair gel products with an all new non-alcohol composition.
In terms of cologne manufacturing, ICL sources the key ingredients for the colognes from the world’s best fragrance suppliers in UK, Italy and France. The fragrances are imported as oils and mixed with essential ingredients to produce a vibrant assortment of perfumes and colognes for the Sri Lankan market. The cologne segment also achieved an extra mileage in the year 2008 as it was introduced to the market in a sachet form.
At inception, the factory was launched with a small staff of 75 staff members. Today, geared with all the profound technology and machinery, we provide employment for over 200 employees just within the manufacturing plant itself. And within a few decades, the organization has stretched its roots to every nook and corner of the market with a versatile brand assortment.
